Day 3 of a 3-Day Trip in Singapore
We headed to Sentosa for our last day in Singapore, specifically to visit Universal Studios. Sentosa is a resort island in Singapore and can be reached by car, pedestrian board walk, cable car, or monorail. Sentosa is filled with a variety of attractions — beaches, amusement parks, museums, and much more! It is definitely worth a day’s visit when in Singapore. For the evening, we visited Singapore’s Night Safari located back on the mainland.
Day 3
Singapore

After having toast and nutella at the hostel once again, we were off to Sentosa. We paid S$4 to ride the monorail. The monorail only charges a fee going into Sentosa, all rides leaving Sentosa are free. The ride was quick but offered a nice view of the island.
Universal Studios is broken up into a few different areas — Far Far Away, the Lost World, Madagascar, Ancient Egypt, Hollywood, Sci-Fi City, and New York. We started in Hollywood and journeyed clockwise around the park.

For lunch, we left the park temporarily to go to Din Tai Fung and ordered their popular xiao long bao (soup dumplings!).

For dinner, we picked a restaurant at the Forum, a shopping mall on Sentosa, before heading back to the city. I ordered the roasted chicken and a fruit drink. The meal came with rice, an egg, vegetables, and sambal.

Dinner
Upon arriving back at VivoCity, we called an Uber to take us to the Night Safari at the Singapore Zoo. Between 7:15pm to 11pm on Thursdays to Sundays, the Singapore Zoo is open to the public in the evenings making it the world’s first nocturnal zoo. Evening attractions include a safari ride and shows with nocturnal animals. Visitors can explore the zoo in the dark, but some of the pathways are very poorly lit, so be careful walking around. If you decide to purchase your tickets ahead of time, you must select a designated entry time (7:15pm, 8:15pm, 9:15pm, or 10:15pm).

Singapore Zoo Night Safari
After the Night Safari, we headed back to the hostel. However, the hostel had made a mistake in our reservations and they had given our beds away. Despite our efforts to show the staff that we had booked the evening, they were not very helpful. We ended up having to sleep at the airport. At least the Singapore Changi Airport is known for being one of the best airports in the world? I reached out to the owner in the following days. They expressed their apologies and refunded us two nights. That said, this was still a horrible experience for us.
